My Take on a Flickr ad

Since I became a flickr member I have marveled at the company's ability to grow its community with little obvious advertising on the web or elsewhere. This is one of the reasons Flickr is a necessary case study for anyone attempting to create a web community. For this ad, I used one of my own images and a generous helping of Flickr's corporate identity. (Please don't sue me) As usual, my focus is on copy here so I took my inspiration from the classic VW Ads by DDB from the 60s and 70s. The big image with the logo, placed to imitate Flickr's home page. Naturally, I had to big up my own work, but the attribution is standard. Flickr is unlikely to take out a full page ad (in a magazine no less) so I have cropped the image to look as much like a polaroid as possible. This might work for a newsletter of a web announcement where the copy discusses new features or recognizes the community or something like that.
