When my girlfriend Monique wanted to try fish again after being alergic for over 20 years we went to Go Fish restaurant. I took this short cellphone video of her first taste. Then wrote a short script and put some titles together in iMovie. The final video is a fun way to show how good the fish and chips is at Go Fish. I also wanted to show that the quality of your video isn't as important as the quality of your story. Go Fish is a great little fish and chips stand on the waterfront in Vancouver, Canada that we've been back to many times now that Monique can enjoy fish.

Problem Statement

Go Fish restaurant needs to show how its excellent food and unpretentious location create a connection to its customers. Those customers seek out Go Fish for fish and chips in Vancouver, making the extra effort to find the restaurant, wait in line and eat in its rustic setting because the fish and chips are worth it.

Goals

To show the deliciousness of Go Fish fish and chips. To show the enthusiasm of Go Fish customers. To show how far Go Fish enthusiasts will go for their fish and chips.

Audience

Urban Vancouverites and visitors to Vancouver seeking fresh, authentic fish and chips.

Client Context

To show the lengths people will go to eat at Go Fish, the ad was recorded as a spontaneous event on a low-fi, cell phone camera.

Promises

Go Fish fish and chips are worth testing your deadly allergy against.

Proof

A girl who has never eaten fish and chips in her life due to an alergy chooses Go Fish for her first taste.

Character

Fun, spontaneous and enthusiastic for the fish and chips.

Extensions

The concept of this ad — someone risking an alergic reaction for a taste of Go Fish — could be taken to more ridiculous levels. This one ad could also spin into a full campaign of what people are willing to do for their Go Fish fish and chips.

This proves that a little video can go a long way. I wish more ads worked this way.
